Message from the Cardiac Surgery Program Leader
The UCSF Cardiac Surgery Program is dedicated to providing an array of advanced surgical techniques for the treatment of heart conditions. Our primary goal is to offer patients minimally invasive options, ensuring superior outcomes.
In recent years, numerous innovative minimally invasive methods have emerged for addressing cardiac valve diseases. Our highly skilled team comprises surgeons extensively trained in these cutting-edge techniques, with a special focus on robot-assisted surgery. We offer a comprehensive spectrum of minimally invasive approaches for heart valve repair and replacement, including procedures like mitral valve repair and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
Additionally, we conduct coronary artery bypass grafting and heart transplantations. Our surgeons have access to state-of-the-art technologies, enhancing the safety and effectiveness of complex surgeries. Our commitment to accessibility for our patients is paramount. To facilitate care for individuals residing outside the Bay Area, we also provide telehealth visits.
UCSF consistently ranks among the nation's top hospitals for cardiac surgery according to U.S. News & World Report. Furthermore, our cardiothoracic surgery team takes immense pride in consistently achieving some of the highest patient satisfaction scores among specialty clinics at UCSF Health.
